Nobody can explain the reason for your existance. Only YOU can expalin the reason. You are the only person to explore the reason about your very existance. Because nobody, including god, asked you to take birth in this world. Your birth and its purpose were willed by you but you forgot the purpose in the process of your growth.
So sit lonely and silently at a place and ask this question within yourself. Wait patiently. One day you will get the reply. Do not ask others or look for the answer in the outer world. Go deep to your inner world. Certainly you will get the answer. This is the only way. There is no other way!

Not just a good question. Almost everybody takes a look at this question at some point of time or other (in some extreme cases even just before deciding to END oneself !)
Just to quote, a subsequent question appeared...

Now, the answer , however clear or to the point , would appeal to the reader (including the asker) according to that individual's perception of the external life. These perceptions obviously differ from person to person(so does the answers).
So, what would constitute an acceptable answer (may be not being accepted right now but open-ness might allow considering such an answer), is the question about the 'answer'....
The verification of an answer has to necessarily do something with the very fundamentals of our existence, that means the very source of our life, existence, our very root, our life energy, or whatever name...
To even identify that source of ourselves , obviously we need a level of perception which has to be a little deeper than that of our normal sensory level perceptions with which we are born by 'default'.....
And then there is something very unique only to humans... the self awareness. NOTE that this self awareness is something that we 'knew' without using these sensory level perceptions. So, logically, it seems acceptable that there is a possibility to DEEPEN our perception beyond just the sensory levels... !
This is exactly why ancient masters, of what ever religion, cult, race, philosophy etc, attempted to guide the seekers of answer to this fundamental question INWARDS....
Once a person happens to deepen his awareness , his level of perception beyond sense organs, it is traditionally termed as turning spiritual (just a word to 'indicate' some search about that energy other than the physical body... that which keeps the body going.... a word .....'spirit'.... known by several indicative names.).
And when such deepening of perception happens, this question not only gets answered, solved or resolved, but EXPERIENTIALLY gets DISSOLVED !! This is the only way this question can find reconciliation conclusively !!

The purpose of existence or life is to work out ones karma. There is no other valid explanation for the birth and death of human beings. How do you explain the death of a kid which dies in an other wise comfortable environment, within a short period of its birth. It is the karma. As long as you do not work out your karma and the balance is not wiped out, you will not get moksha or liberation from the cycle of birth and death.

...to play out the infinite possibilities of life. no matter what age, race, sex, or religion we all go through the same things but each experience it in a slightly different way. Whether it be the complex situations of love or the more simple decisions of which bite of food to eat first, our purpose is to experience things and evolve into beings with a higher level of understanding. Even with the infinite knowledge of generations before us we are doomed to play out the different situations of life for ourselves. History, even if you venture to learn from it, always repeats itself in someone else's life.

noone can truly explain the meaning of our existence as fact, but i can give a theory.

all of our lives interconnect in some way, and each of us has a purpose in life other than just to live. we all fit in like puzzle pieces and our purposes aren't something grand (like to be elected president or discover the cure for the common cold) but something on a more simple level like to help out someone else. so that when the puzzle is complete everything is right.

we do not " have" WE ARE Reason itself...and if you are a reason itself you do not know a reason, because the most unknown is oneself. Being a reason itself why bother to ask others what a reason? It had been said that we are looking for ourselves being in this world.. You , by your living existence make it, Include REASON in you search, well , many many more...make it paet of yourself, do not let it be outside of yourself, and you've done. That which we have is a dust , no value at all..that which we are priceless.

I think one of the reasons for my existance in this world is, at least, based on a line by Longfellow, that is, to do something contributive to my family and to the community and leave it in the sand of time.
