It is really a matter of personal perference -- they both require the ability to think through things though on a different level. The big difference is the level of information that you have as you go through the decision making process. With chess, you know where all the pieces are and you can see the lines of attack that are available to them. The only thing that you don't know is what your opponent is thinking, though you may have some ideas if you know enough about the opponent. With poker, you have very incomplete information -- you see the open cards in play and what the best possible hand is given those cards. There is more of an element of psychology in poker than in chess, though there is some psychology in each. Poker is also generally more fast paced, though blitz chess can be frantic as well. They are both exceptionally fun games and good for the brain, I think.

ihave played both u need a good mind to play both but most of all u got to have a poker face for chess and a chess face for poker get they r both good mind game
