4. Packaged in a vesicle that is made by pinching off a little bubble of the e.r. membrane.
5. Carried in the membrane vesicle to a nearby Golgi body where the vesicle joins with the Golgi body. Protein is now inside the flattened membrane disks of the Golgi body.
6. Processed and sorted inside the Golgi body.
7. Packaged in a vesicle made by pinching off a piece of the Golgi body membrane.
8. Travels inside the vesicle bubble to the plasma membrane.
9. Vesicle membrane joins with the plasma membrane, and the protein inside the membrane is "put out" to the outside of the plasma membrane.
