I was asking because apparently at my college campus one of my professors who is is Cuban seemed to get offended by the symbol. I in now way would ever wear a Che Guevara t shirt because I know the atrocities . This was just a a symbol of the formerly USSR Soviet Union. He questioned me if I was for Communism , and I told him im all for Capitalism. I later responded it was just a symbol for the former Soviet Union which was dismantled in 1991. into a free state.

Either way you look at it people will not be happy. This is taken out of context

I have several Soviet National team Hockey Jerseys....and some do have the hammer and sickle.

There are groups that were conquered by the USSR that certainly were no fans of the USSR....like...the entire baltic states. I am sure that people of Lithuanian, Latvian, Estonian dexcent are not wild about seeing it.

I am not wild about how those regions treated Jews during that period, so I don't really care if they are offended.

But there are people who were oppressed and conquered by the USSR that will be offended.

Why would you even want to? If there is a chance that it offends people, why would you wear it? What is your connection with the symbol? Are you asserting your right as an individual? If you are, just so you know, individualism has no place in the previous soviet block. Labor is what the hammer symbolises...work. Socialism has no place for people that wish to be individuals.
