Are the Irish really treated unequally??? Irish immigrants to the US were in the past up til the early 20th century, but now?
No, Ireland is a small country, and pretty prosperous now.
No one treats the Irish poorly.

Who looks down on the Irish nowadays? Maybe some British people, but I know a few Irish Immigrants and loads of Irish Americans (some of which are distant relatives), who are treated just fine in the USA. They are considered to be just regular old White/Europeans now. Hell, we even had an Irish American president.
And as a side note: there is no real equality in this world. It's really a matter of those who are rich and powerful and those who are not. There is not one place in the world where all nationalities, ethnicitys, races, cultures, etc are all equal. There are only places were people pretend to not discriminate (i.e. Cuba or France), but in reality, they have issues like everyone else. Do you really think a White South African, a Cambodian, a Russian, and a Canadian are truly looked upon as being equal?

and when you say Irish are you referring to the ethnicity or the nationality, please be a little more specific so that i may answer your question a little better.

I think everyone is so self-absorbed with their own personal case of "Oh! Poor me!!!" I doubt if you could find one group of people now, regardless of their racial, religious or ethnic background, that did not feel that they were being victimized. This especially applies to people like the Jews and the Irish, who are generally not treated worse than anyone else. Stop whining! PLEASE!
