this is only my second month on the pill, so i know that breakthrough bleeding is quite common. is my pill still effective during breakthrough bleeding....does it still prevent pregnancy?

Hi, I am actually having the same problem right now, using alesse which is very low dose. My gyno told me repeatedly yesterday that if the breakthrough bleeding was heavy ( more then just a lil spotting) that the birth control is less effective and I should use a backup method. I hope that helps.

as long as you take the pill regularly like you're supposed to it's still working
