When he (Grossman) is the main reason his team (Chicago) lost, he deserves it.

Because right or wrong, too many people seem to think
winning or losing rides on the shoulders of the quarterback.
...and it appears that this is the case since he touches the
ball on every offensive play.
But truth is, no matter how good he is, the quarterback is nothing
without a frontline to keep people off him. He is nothing if his defense can't stop the other offense. Football is a team sport.
It's high time that a lineman got the MVP award...but you will never see it.
Life is a lot like a football game. Seems like the people in the
spotlight get all the glory and the headlines. But a precious few
made it without the help of someone else.
Let's face it. We all must depend on each other in this world.
The degree to which a person helps his fellowman should be
the true measure of an award. Having said that, the people
deserving the award would not want to be put on a pedastle in
the first place.

Because in most franchises the QB is the face of it. And sometimes it really is their fault.
Billy C
Kyle Boller is not better than Rex Grossman. I can say this as true Raven fan that had to sit through the agony and watch him lose game after game for us. Grossman did atleast have a few good games. Boller sucked all game every game.

The quarterback takes a lot of heat for losing, period. He's the one who touches the ball the most. He's the one that is supposed to be calm under pressure. He's supposed to lead his team to victory. Or that is what the average fan thinks of the quarterback.

For the same reason why they get so much credit after winning the Super Bowl...it's part of the job.

Because the Quarterback is supposed to play like the next day is the end of the world. It's the World Championship and it's all or nothing.

Because the quarterback is the general of the team and he must be the director of what is happening and the morale director to guide the team in good times or bad.

Because the qb touches the ball on every offensive play. It only makes sense to blame him. Good question.

Because everybody sees him as the team leader. He controls much of the game, so if something goes wrong, the blame is easy to put on him.
