My son is 8 months old. He has had watery diarreah all day, but he was acting fine and I just had him at the doctor the other day, so I decided not to worry too much about it and just keep an eye on him. I guess I didn't notice that his bottles were not very cold coming out of our refridgerator.....when my husband came home he started looking at the freezer (which has been acting up) and discovered that the whole unit is froze up. Nothing is getting cold enough. The fridge was cool...but not cold. Now I'm worried that I have been giving my son spoiled bottles all day, and that has caused his diarreah. How dangerous is this? Is this going to make him really sick?

I made a bunch of bottles at about 10:00 last night. He had the last of those bottles at around 3:00 this afternoon at which point I opened a new can and made another bottle which he had at 7:00.

if everything was still cool you shouldn't have anything to worry about.

Unless you found the formula looking noticeably spoiled, chances are you may have created some of his diarrhea, but you've not made him really sick. Are you just giving him formula or are you adding in a little cereal and more solid food yet? Depending on his development at 8 months, he might need to eat more and cut back on some of the formula he's getting. I started both of my children on baby cereal and baby food at 6 months of age. They just seemed to want more than just formula and gently, I eased a little into their diets. But you probably know about all of that. Sometimes the brand of formula doesn't agree with their little tummies and has to be changed until one is found that they can digest better. Ask the doctor, but I don't think you have done anything really dangerous with this formula thing. He will be okay in a few "movements". Good luck and best wishes!

I fed my baby who was three months at the time a bottle that was left out for twenty four hours. She didnt even bat an eye or get diarrhea so I dont think its that serious. When I mentioned it to a nurse they told me as long as my baby isnt vomiting or having diarrhea its probably fine. Being that your baby only has diarrhea and no fever and isnt vomiting I would just let it pass through his digestive track and it should be fine. Also feeding my baby old formula has happened on more then one occasion because my ex boyfriend did the same thing.

We did not do this on purpose mind you..it just happens when you leave bottles out and then forget about it and get a new bottle and mix them up.

do not worry - injuries take position. Your daughter would get a touch an disenchanted tummy, yet she will be able to be ok. Doing some thing like that once is not likely to have any intense consequences. there's a danger of more beneficial intense food poisoning and also you ought to search for medical advice if she will grow to be very ill (vomiting, diarrhoea, intense fever, unexpected rash, etc). i wish all is nicely. :)

That could be what caused the diarrhea, but there is a lot of that going around right now. And if they were too spoiled he probably would not have drank them. But he will be fine give him lots of fluids so it will pass faster.

I am not sure that formula is that sensitive; there could be a website associated with the formula that you could look up. I don't think calling the ER would help; I don't think they would know the answer to this.

Give him plenty of fluids and watch for any changes in his condition. I would also make an appointment to see the doctor as soon as possible, just to be safe and to ease your mind.

if he is eating now, he is OK and as long as he wasn't throwing it up a lot, just keep a eye on him, when did you put it in the fridge, my guess is it was on its way out but not quite there yet, which is why he just got diarria

It could. i would give him Pedialyte for now. Give him a fresh bottle in the morning, and see how it goes.
