Does birth control cause miscarriages? Say for example, Im taking birth control and I get pregnant, if I continue to take it will I have a miscarriage?

Birth control makes the body an unfriendly environment for an egg to implant in the uterus. If the woman happens to get pregnant, the hormones needed to progress the pregnancy are lacking. Typically the woman either miscarries, or the fetus has birth defects.

Considering that the main ingredient in the BCP and the "morning after" pill are very similar...I would say the chances are a possible yes.

If you are pregnant and trying to lose a baby...consider all of those out there, like me, who've had 5 miscarriages and no live births, that would love to adopt your child and give it the home you cannot.

If you're not pregnant and this was just an honest question, please ignore the above...but if the situation above is true...just consider that before trying to do something like that...because more than likely, the BCP is a lower dose, so you wouldn't miscarry, yet have a baby born with lots of developmental problems.
