I currently have a savings account w/ citibank. I am planning on closing my account b/c my bf and I want to open up a joint account and can't decide which bank to go with. Any suggestions which bank? We need to open up a checking account. Does anyone know which bank does not charge for checks?

Most banks these days provide free checking and the first order of checks are free -- reprints are up to you but they don't cost much and you don't have to buy them from your bank. Plus I only write 4 checks each year now that I pay everything on-line.

Commerce Bank is one to look at as well as U. S. Bank if you have them in your area. Nowadays with ATM's everywhere
online banking means you dont even need a bank in your town.

Lots of legal issues with joint accounts with bf's .

It is not a good idea to get a joint account with a boyfriend or anyone else. But, if you really want to call your banks and see which has the best offer.

i don't know of a specific bank, but if this is only your bf, have you thought this through? unless you're going to make a pretty big commitment to him, i wouldn't.. i've had a couple of friends get into trouble with opening a joint account w/ their signifcant other.

just a warning. not telling you that you're wrong.

Just don't do it. He will spend all your money and then disappear.
