My honest opinion is if you really think you have advanced singing skills but just need to brush up on certain techniques, then I say go for it. But if you are a beginner singer, honestly do you really think you can learn enough in such a short time to be as good as any of the previous Idols? I'm not trying to dissuade you from trying it, its just if you really and I mean REALLY think you are good or as good as the other winners and want to give it a shot I say GO FOR IT. If you aren't an established singer at this point four months isnt going to be enough preparation. I've been singing for 30 years and four months wouldn't be enough for me to get up there and sing to where I thought I had a chance. I've seen ALL seasons of Idol and I know what they are expecting and that's greatness. Do it if you REALLY think you are GREAT! Good Luck.

GO FOR IT!! really, u should try if u think u are any good. i just hope ur not one of those people who think they can sing but they're really horrible! um.. my cousin auditioned twice for this season's american idol and he got thru the FIRST of the rounds judged by some producers... but then he didn't make it. well im just lettin u know heads up that there's A LOT of rounds before u actually meet the celebrity judges. if u make it to them, either u are really good, or ur really bad and the show just wants to use u for entertainment.
BUT I HOPE UR GOOD AND IF U ARE OR THINK U ARE, THEN GO AHEAD AND START TAKING LESSONS! IT MIGHT PAY OFF EVEN IF U DONT MAKE AI!!!

First ask yourself..."Can I sing?" && "Does my voice sound okay?". Next, ask a family member the same 2 questions. Then ask some friends. I'm not trying to be mean or anything. But you have to have an okay voice to even consider it. You Know. People just love making fun of people that think they can sing...but really can't.
If the answer to your questions...is YES. Then start those classes ASAP to get as much practice as you can. If I see you on the tv in the future.. I will be rooting for you. 8)
