G'day,

Monash or Toronto... hmmm... what do you need to consider:
1. University ranking in the world, Toronto is higher than Monash
2. Weather or climate: Toronto is much-much-much colder than Melbourne (Monash is in Melbourne, Australia).
3. Cost of Living: Toronto is higher than Melbourne
4. Livable city rank: Melbourne is higher than Toronto (article included below)

Looking at those facts, I would prefer to live and study in Melbourne. But again... I'm bias since I've been living in Melbourne for more than 16years ;)

My suggestion is: if there are any big Education exhibitions in your hometown (either from Canada or Australia), visit them and speak with the representative from each uni so you get the feeling of the uni itself. It may be a good idea to ask them as well if they know of any graduates that you can speak to. If you have some time & a little extra money, come and visit the cities so you can have a feeling as well whether or not you are going to like living there for the next 3 or 4 years during your study.

Hope this helps. E-mail me if you have any further queries at mikegun@studentfirst.com.au. Good luck on your study.
