I can understand when people complain about the text phone speech like for instance, "if da peple on ere cud spel" or something like that but there are a few people that do my nut in. The Americans who think everything is spelt wrong if not spelt the way they spell it, the people who pick your question to absolute bits "if you are going to use i'm it should be I'm" as the one said to you earlier, and the ones who pick you up for every spelling mistake and while doing this are making spelling mistakes themselves. For me they are the worst.

A lot of non-English speakers use this site to improve their English. As native speakers of this rich and diverse language, the least we can do is to be as accurate as possible.
All you need to do is run the spell checker before submitting your answer/question.
I understand a poorly spelt or grammatically incorrect question, but an Italian, Spaniard, etc may not.

Missus why worry. We haven't all got Firsts from Oxford and Cambridge. As long as your question or answer can be understood that's all that counts. If everything was done according to the book we would get nowhere.

I feel people should at least make an effort and not use babyish SMS speak.
After all, you are expecting people to take time and effort replying to your question.
How much time does it really save putting y instead of why, or any1 instead of anyone (as you did in an earlier question)?

I don't have a problem with it. God, I hate it when people are too obsessed with spelling lol!
--- And that's saying a lot coming from me, cause I'm a college tutor... But hey, we're not the grammar squad are we, it's just Yahoo! Answers after all :p

If this was a test. You chould capitilize I, im should be I'm, and u should be you.
But it is not a test and people do the best they can with the knowledge or style of writing that they have.

No spelling mistakes there. I don't give a toss about the odd typo but when the grammar and spelling is all wrong and you don't have a clue what they're going on about, then we've got a problem.
