When we had babies, my wife always bathed the kids in the sink, until they got big enough to fit in the tub. They seemed to fit in there perfectly. We even have pictures of them.

I remember when my nephew was born (14 years ago), the maternity ward had these lovely deep sinks that they would bathe the babies in. So easy on the back, so easy to drain (just pull out the plug!), so practical...
It seemed almost riduculous when I had my daughter (admittedly, different hospital) and they would use the bassinet for bathing. They had to remove all of the bedding, move it into the tiny bathroom, empty it over the shower recess afterwards etc. etc. It just seemed so much better when they just used the sinks.
You do need a big-ish sink however... and yes, if it is the kitchen sink you would want to make sure you clean it thoroughly before!! We've all heard the horror stories of toilets being cleaner than kitchen sinks...

Yeah. Most newborns are bathed in the sink because of their size...There are special little reclining seats you can buy at, say, Target that they lie in while in the bath, if you prefer. But the sink works great, just clean it out well with soap-not bleach-and have lots of towels and all the toiletries nearby prior to the bath. (babies are so wiggly when they're little and wet)! good luck!

I remember being bathed in a sink. The hot water came out of there and the cold came out of there. Sometimes it was too cold or too hot. I remember looking at the reflections in the chrome and the way the soap smelled. And a comforting towel.

Yes I have because she was a newborn and I didn't dare but her in a tub. Well she was like 14 weeks old and needed a bath bad.

Yes, if they can sit-up and the sink is large enough it's a great play place and mock tub. Don't worry it really is safe, or at least I've never read or heard of it not being. Please remember to always keep your child under either your or another responsible adults supervision.

Yes. Both sons. It was a LONG time ago. I believe it is generally considered safer than in the tub. Less chance of drowning.
