I need help if anybody knows a good website that can inform me on the responsibility of schools in regard to showing students movies? I am doing a project for school and i need help.

If the movie is in your school library, then you should be fine with showing it. If it's not in your school library, then this should be the rule of thumb: age-appropriateness (nothing that's too young for the class, yet not too old either), relates to the curriculum (shows something that could not be easily explained to the class or demonstrates something that is being explained to the class), and is not offensive (no drug scenes, nudity, bad language, or violence; does not contain scenes which may be offensive to ethnic minorities.) If it's a project for a teacher, consult your teacher first before showing it. If it's rated a PG-13 or R, then you might have to send a permission slip home to the parents if the students are under aged. Each school district has their own policy, so check with the policy guidelines. I don't know of any websites that could help you, except perhaps your local school district's website.

look at state education policies... dont think a site would cover it.

there is always liability now... so principals ok anything that isnt G and usually approve any movies that werent already okayed to be part of the school media library.

You wan tthem to be more responible students. show them the kids in Africa who don't get a chance at an education

I think that they are not supossed to show R rated ones.
