I was almost 3 weeks late on my period. I had/have weird symptoms of being pregnant. I actually ate french toast sticks and a grilled cheese now thinking about it makes me sick. ive had mood swings and about a month or so ago my breasts were tender, and around the same time last week i would get sick at my stomach. i had a lil cramping this morning and a lite pink discharge but now its red like a regular period but still lite! Could i still have something like a period and be pregnant or whats going on? its all i think about.. and im so confused. but question is can i take a test like in the morning even though im bleeding litely... or will it be a waste of a test if i do one??????

If it isn't like your regular period then yes you can still test. It is possible to bleed and still be pregnant but it isn't a period.

I would test.

Spotting, or lite bleeding, is actually quite common during the first few months of pregnancy, and will probably coincide with your normal cycle. All of the symtoms you describe are common symptoms of pregnancy, so I would take a home test. If you still don't feel confident, have a doctor do a test. Many local health departments do pregnancy tests for very cheap. In this case, it is always best to be sure.
You can still take a test while you are bleeding, this should not affect the results of the test. And it's best to take the test the first time you pee in the morning, as your hormones will have built up overnight. Hope this helps!

Yes, you may still have some spotting possibly even what appears to be a "normal" period throughout a pregnancy. An obstetrician can council you on whether it is an indication of a problem pregnancy.

You can still take an EPT in the morning. Since you are already past your normal period, the EPT should be 95% accurate regardless of any bleeding you may notice. If you are not pregnant, there are many potential reasons that your period may have been late ranging from the serious to the very trivial such as hormonal changes brought on by stress or illness.

Good luck!

Yes you can be pregnant and have a "period". I am 8 weeks pregnant yet i had a period , yes it was lighter than usual, and then the next month nothing......took a test a few days later and bingo it came back positive. I would wait till bleeding stops though to do a test....
but on the negative side...you could of been pregnant, which is why you were late to begin with and mother nature took over and the egg never managed to embed itself.
Would see a doctor either way to be on safe side.
Good luck though..hope this helps

No, you cannot be pregnant AND still get a period. You have to pick. It's not your choice, so just to be sure, you should do a test. It shouldn't take too much time.

A possiblity to why you are late on your period but still getting a "lite" period, would that you experiencing "spotting" as a fellow Answerer pointed out.

Good luck!

a couple of things to think bout,
yes it is possible to have period like symptons during your pregnancy but also remember allot of people miss carrry in the early stages and never realise they are pregnant in the first plce.

So you need to go to the doctor and get a test, you may be pregnant you may not or you may have had a natural miss carrage.

Dont worry allot of the time nature makes misscarries happen because there is a problem with the egg and it wont survve, all part of the circl of life.

get it checked out by a pro and good luck xxx

It is rare, but possible. One of my sisters got her period multiple times during one of her pregnancies. I was really young so it could be that she was just having "spotting" like the others here have mentioned. And once, my mom had symptoms of being pregnant when she wasn't. Although we think mom's symptoms in that case were due to a strong desire to have another baby. Sounds like you should definitely get tested.
