who?

Seeing the level of society he moved in, you can imagine indulgence for him would be extremely decadent.

Although this incredible man has been studied and written about as much as any American statesman, historians often pass over any mention of Hamilton's expression of intense love for his male comrades.

I am not sure if that meant an indulgence for his male comrades in a positive fashion or in the more current interpretation,

Alcohol. These founding fathers of America were fairly steady in their personal habits. So to drink too much would be an indulgence.

In those days, one did not dally sexually with slaves, if he had sexual congress with a slave that would be an indulgence... this was a very common indulgence eventually...

I am sure sleeping in or being lazy would be an indulgence for these busy men. Over eating would be an indulgence. Too much of anything would be an over indulgence because they were sober men.

Food was a major indulgence and many of the wealthy had highly trained European chefs. I am sure he participated in such meals.
