I need to teach my wife how to be more patient with the children. She is having a lot of problems with them but I think what she needs is to learn how to be more patient with them and to be more disciplined with her self. The children are learning from her. I can get them to improve their behaviour but it takes time and she is not happy either with my method (which needs patience) or the time it takes for things to improve. She beleives that I am teaching them the bad behaviour but I do not spend much time with them.

The best way to teach some one patience is by becoming a true example. If, you show patience and tell your children to show her an example , I think definetly she will understand the situation. One more thing you can do is to try to understand the reasons behind her behaviour, may be she had gone through some very bad experience related to such problem in the past in her family or friends or relatives etc. Definetly, there must be some reason for her such behaviour. Once you are able to diagnose the cause you will be able to solve the problem. May be she got the similar treatment from her parents ,and thinks that this is the only way to control the children. Showing affection and love to her by you and your children will help a lot in this matter.

A mother tends to become impatience with her children.
-Nothing wrong with that. She wants what's best.

A husband tends to become impatience with his wife
e.g. shopping, teaching her to driver a car etc.
-Nothing wrong with that either :p

Don't scold your wife in front of the children. If you don't approve of how she handles a situation with the children, take charge and deal with the children yourself. If there's improvement, she will eventually emulate (model after) you.

Be patient :-)
