the program would consit of better educating ex offenders preparing them for work force as well as life skills and provinding a place of temp residency most people go right back to jail after being released for two main reason they can't get decent jobs because of thier back ground or they do not know how to cope with being back in socity after being released they need to be slowly processed back int socity especially the ones that has did over five years i think that i have the ability to help these type people but my finances will not permit me to that is why i need the government to help me get this business off the ground i believe it will cut down on some of these repeat offenders

Yeah, I have to agree that a spell check would have made a significant difference to this question.

Secondly, there are government institutions that provide these kinds of services to inmates and ex-cons. Inmates can be put on a work release program, where they can exchange hours behind bars with hours of performing a specific job within a specific trade. Ex-cons have access to government job-placement services within their community.

The simple fact is: employers really don't want to hire someone that has been in jail for long periods of time, or at all for that matter. I own a business, one where the majority of my overhead is handled by a select group of individuals. I wouldn't hire a known thief to keep track of my business accounts, just as a bank wouldn't hire a bank robber to man their teller stations.

There are many businesses, most of which are MUCH larger than mine, that would happily give ex-cons a chance to prove themselves. The inherent problem lies in the convicts mind most likely. They are "positive" that nobody will hire them due to their criminal status, and so decide that trying isn't worth the effort. Then they resort back to crime.

But how many of them actually do put in a job application to flip hamburgers in a fast food joint? Or stock shelves in a supermarket? I'm sure of the ones who do, there has to be a percentage who get hired. Maybe they even move on to highly coveted positions within the company eventually.

You have to start somewhere.

First and foremost you have to establish a proposal of some sort and then you need to do research on grants and loans to help you establish what you're trying to do. The government has a lot of stipulations before they give away money to private establishments to do something like provide a service of some sort to rehab ex offenders. If you're trying to rehab convicted felons you have to also set iron clad guidelines they have to adhere to meaning they have to be drug free, if felon is mentally ill must be in compliance with taking meds on schedule, can't afflilate with known gang members or other felons if they've had previous association with gangs, they have to be actively pursuing vocational or career goals, they have to meet with a counselor every so often to check in on their progress, and they have to submit to drug screening every so often to make sure they're staying clean. Also state the reprecussions if they violate the terms of the agreement that this will be reported to their probation/parole officer and they can be returned to prison and they can't return to the program and other arrangements have to be made. Convicted felons have to be told the deal because being tough will let them know that chances for them to start their lives over don't come very often. Start with a proposal and figure out how much you're going to need capital wise and begin to search for grant assistant programs(look for the free ones any of them that require outrageous amounts of money over a certain amount is a scam because most things carry a small fee or it's free if it's over a $50 it's a scam). Also contact the state to find out the laws and statutes on establishing a rehab program for prison offenders.
