I have never attended Columbine High School howver I was attending a Denver Public School which was only about 1/8 of a mile away from Columbine when the deadly shooting occured in the 90's when I was in 5th grade. i was attending school like normal and had been a really great day. In fact I was almost positive nothing significant was going to happen. I was dead wrong and found out the hard way at 2:30 PM. I was in my English class listening to a boring lecture my teacher was giving when all of a sudden the principal of the school came onto the intercom and say "ALERT EMERGENCY CODE LOCKDOWN". I was at first not alarmed because I thought it was just a drill but after all windows, doors, and electricity was switched off in the school I became very nervous and suspicous and knew that something was in fact the matter. From 2:45 to 6:30 PM the principal contacted every students parents and told them that there had been a school shooting and they needed the students to be picked up immediatedly. I sat around the quiet school until about 5:30 PM when my mother came and got me. I was in utter shock of what had happended so when my mother and I were eating dinner I asked her "Mom, exactly what has happended"? She said to me that there had been a deadly school shooting. As of this day I am in 11th grade attenfing a public school in Fort Collins, CO and I know much more surronding the details of this incident. I still mourn for the people who died however and I wonder why two sick students in there right minds would ever even consider commiting such a horrible act. I don't hear any people talk about it at my school Hurricane Katrina and 9/11 are still the main top stories on the topic of mass destruction. Unfourtanetly I have no pictures for you but there can be a memorial found in the city of denver in one of their cemetries. This very tragic event will never be forgotten. I hope I have helped you out and gotten useful information from a person who was so close to this accident.

This is crazy old but I went to columbine, I graduated 2013 and if anything the shooting made the community much closer. There is a memorial thing in the park near the school, Kids and teachers talk about their experiences a lot because its the schools history and its the students right to know what happen, its an amazing school, its a Family. Lots of care

I can answer a few of these questions. I was in town when it happened. I was not at the school. There is a memorial. I don't talk about it alot but it affected my life deeply. I cling more closely to my family now.
