I am a Red Sox fan, and I'd like nothing more than to see Mariano in a Sox uniform :-)
But the Yankees would be crazy if they didn't resign him as soon as possible. He's the greatest closer of all time.

No way will George Steinbrenner let Mariano Rivera get away from the Yankees. Rivera has been Mr. Automatic as a closer and would be irreplaceable. Steinbrenner knows who does what with the Yanks and he also knows what Rivera would be worth on the open market. Don't worry, a deal will get done. I would say that when the Yanks break camp to start the season, Mariano will have at least a 3-5 year deal signed, sealed and delivered.

I was reading on ESPN.com today and it looks like all contracts with Mariano Rivera are going to happen after 2007. Although I'm not a Yankee fan I think it would be a shame if they don't resign him. In the era of free agency I think it is great that a player stays with one team. The Yankees front office should respect everything that he has done for the franchise and make sure he retires a Yankee.

they will the yankees have to mariano rivera is part of the yankees in my opininon is dont let mo go sign him i appreciate and respect the guy so much for what hes has done for the club and the best closer i cant imagine no other closer for the yankees i pray to god they keep mo i love mo and cant imagine him pitching for another team let him pitch ubtil his arm breaks off

Trust me they'll sign him no way are they gonna make him walk,I don't no what Cashman is up to,but he's starting to piss alot of PPL off,You don't wanna piss Mo off,,Like he said,,The yankees better treat me with respect or i'll walk!! And there's alot of teams he could walk to.
