He is only playing on the emotions of the people for political gain.
We have lost more than 3000 good Americans. In Vietnam we lost 58,000 good Americans. In WWII we lost 500,000 good Americans.
It is the world we live in today. More value is placed on human life than in the past. Obama is trying to use this to his advantage.
Let's not forget the 3000 lives lost September 11, 2001. We need revenge.
Every volunteer soldier raises his right hand and swears to give his life for his country. We must fight. We must win.

First and foremost his name is spelled Barrack Obama. His remarks probably could have been phrased "politically" better, but I understand we he means. Our military is the strongest and most technologically advanced on the planet, and they did there jobs. They toppled Saddam Hussein's regime and captured the "bum". They even did (and are still doing) some Iraqi police and military work. The basic premise for armed forces to attack Iraqi is that Saddam Hussein and his political party had Weapons of Mass Destruction (WMD). When WMD were not found in Iraqi, Bush started changing his reason why America is in Iraq (i.e. Saddam was a murderous dictator and killed many Iraqi citizens and wanted to get WMD). Then Bush threw in another caveat, to turn Iraqi into a Democracy. Now, here we are in 2007 with over 3,100 american military personnel dead and over 23,000 wounded. The Iraqi government has changed from Sunni controlled to Shia controlled. The government of Iran is predominantly Shia controlled. If the citizens of Iraqi don't won't a democracy but prefer an Iranian-style government, then what? Obama will be right. American lives would have be lost in order to strengthen Iran. Unfortunately, him speaking his mind will hurt his chances even if he is 100% truthful.

1. Obama is under the microscope, anything he says in any way will be dissected and interpreted in a thousand different ways. He's relatively new to this phenomenon. He'll have to watch every word he says and then he'll sound just like everyone else. Unfortunately for him, he's speaking his mind (and my mind) right now and it's going to hurt his chances.
Those valuable lives were wasted-in a situation that was pretty much hopeless from the beginning. That's a waste. All of those guys and girls could be going to college, getting married, starting families, making the U.S. a stronger place to live and work-Ambassadors. A gold mine of potential, resources, love and hope-wasted. Unfortunately, only wars change things suddenly and visibly. That's what we pay attention to. What a waste.
2. There's not much chance that an African American man can be elected. There will be such a grass roots swell that it'll never happen but that the possibility is out there and taken seriously, is a major victory in itself. Yeah for the United States. We're growing up though growing pains come with it.

love the obama supporters solutions exhibits they comprehend no longer something approximately info and stick to the cult chief. desperate to be considered as great, Mr. Obama stored his head down, declining Sunday talk prepare invites for his first 3 hundred and sixty 5 days, and consulted Senate elders for suggestion. He grew to become into careful — even on the Iraq war, which he had antagonistic as a Senate candidate. He voted against the withdrawal of troops and proposed legislations calling for a drawdown in trouble-free terms after he grew to become into working for president and polls confirmed voters favoring it.

The longer the war drags on, & the more of our guys get killed in Iraq- the LESS those remarks are going to matter. As it is, no one without an axe to grind is going to care about them by Election Day 2008.

First of all his stance as being anti-war and it being that he has had this stance since the beginning will appeal with the voters . though he had phrased it incorrectly he quickly apologized .
unlike his other rivals in the presidential race he sits well with most people , the Media including , which says something . Edwards , McCain , Hillary Clinton , they all lack the type of publicity that he can get : actual good publicity . unlike other candidates he seems approachable , someone who sticks with his values and someone who at this moment is on the winning side of the political spectrum with voters . he will surely be a potential candidate unlike most who don't make it out of the primaries . he seems like someone who voters can see their values expressed through and the turning point that they have wanted . whether he can keep up this image will be seen in the following years .

I think that as a mother of an Army Officer, he is disingenuous.
Set a time to come home (why not send our location to the terrorist too), wanted to cut funding or at least freeze it ( why not limit the number of assigned bullets), & he expects me to think he is concerned for the troops losing their lives. He is concerned if he gets elected. Never with this military family vote!

He's apologized Jesus Christ you've never said something that came out wrong? Gimme a break he didn't support Bush's stupid decision and has been vocal about it, you know what he was right this is an ill conceived poorly managed war and people want to fry him for a small verbal gaff, get off your high horse I doubt you can morally match the man in your day to day life

His stance on the war coupled with his remarks are defiantly going to impact him, at least as far as the [Conservative] swing vote is concerned.
