We went to a wedding 5 hours away 6 weeks ago when our baby was 6 weeks old. New babies sleep so much and the car helps them sleep that it was pretty uneventful. Just plan stops at intervals that will coincide with feedings (every 2-3 hours).

My husband is military, so we move a lot. When my second child was 3 weeks old, and my first was 21mos. we moved approx. 20 hrs. away from where we were living. Fortunately my first child was a good traveler, and the second being just a baby did just fine too. She slept most of the way. You just have to allow time to stop for diaper changes and feedings. Also, make sure the baby is fed, changed and ready for a nap when you start your trip.

Babies that young sleep a lot anyway so a trip that long wouldn't be a problem. Just make sure bub's head is well supported and bub is comfortable. Bub will probably sleep for most of the trip and will probably only wake to be fed (but with a three year old, you'd have to stop regularly anyway).
Enjoy the trip and good luck with the move.

No, just make sure you have ready to feed formula or somewhere to stop along the way to breastfeed safely. I took my daughter to her grandparents for christmas when she was a week old, it's normally a three hour car ride but her father decided to get us lost and take the scenic route, which ended up taking 7 hours. She slept most of the way except for when she woke up to be fed, so it'll be alright. Don't forget to get all of your children's medical records on paper to take with you, just in case of emergency! Good luck!
