my sisters and i all have the middle name anne which is my mom's name and my great-grandmother's name. As much as I would have liked a unique and personal middle names, it's sort of a uniting element between all of us.

No i wouldnt give my children the same middle name. My husband and his 2 brothers have the same middle name just all spelt differently .. To keep in tradition we gave our youngest and last child the same middle name , Maddison Leigh , But my main reason for this is it kept my husband happy because this is what he wanted and because i couldnt find another name to go with Maddison.

I know someone who named all their boys Auther and different middle names - then he just called them all by middle names, i thought that was strange.
My friend has the same middle name as his brothers Howard - it seemed ok.
Now I would love for my next daughter to have the same middle name as my only daughter - but she isn't so cool with that. She is now18 and dont want her sister to have the same middle name as her. So I am going to listen to her and name my daughter either Rachel Ann or Rowan Anntoinette. My daughter has my 1st name as a middle name, my middle name is Anntoinette.

I've heard of the "naming all the girls Maria" and then calling them by their middle names. There are two sisters on an adoption site that I frequent named Janet. (different middle names, also listed)
I used to date a guy whose dad's name was Michael. Older brother was Michael Jr and he was Peter Michael.

I can't imagine anyone giving all their kids the same first name. As far as a middle name goes, it doesn't really matter..nobody goes through life using their middle name anyway. I don't know half of my friends middle names.

I wouldn't give them the same first name, but i would possibly give them the same middle name if they were the same sex. I know someone who named their son Ryan James (James was the father) then 13 years later had another son and named him Jameson (james' son) then named their other 2 boys Landon James and Lucas James.

It depends on the name and how it is spelled like my daughter and I we have the same middle name but spelled differently. My son and his father have the same middle name but they are spelled the same way. How you do it or the family does it is completly up to them.

I wouldn't do it, but I know a family who has a son and two daughters all of which have the middle name "Rae" though it is spelled "Ray" for the son. It's their fathers fist name, so I guess it's a family thing.

I wouldn't because my children are both unique in their own ways, and it's not fair to them to have the same middle name. Although some families may like that! I wouldn't though! TO EACH THEIR OWN!!
