I'm a senior on the verge of failing unless I buckle down and get on my work. My motivation is gone and I feel graduating has become this intangible or unachievable goal. How do I break down my barrier and just...get it done?

1. remove all distractions(tv, computer....) while doing homework
2. realize that your time is better spent studying or doing assignments than fooling around
3.notice that its feels better to have all your work done on your free time instead of dreading it until you finally do it at night

Maybe the goals after graduating are holding you back from completing your senior year. The fear of the unknown, the future, your life after high school. Don't worry about what lies ahead, concentrate on the present, the now. One step at a time.
Not everybody has a life goal as soon as they walk across the stage! Enjoy your senior year as it will fast become a memory.
To keep good memories, lighten up and just have some fun, do your assignments. Something you learn today will impact you for the rest of your life. Most of all, good luck, you can do it!
I want to come back & read in June that you've been handed a diploma! ;)

I was in a similar situation as you. I couldn't see the endpoint (i.e. graduation), it seemed too far away and too much work. What I did was set small goals for myself (like one assignment at a time) that I can achieve. Pretty soon those small achieved goals snowball into the realization that you're almost graduating. It worked for me, hope it does for you.

Counselors help tremendously too.
