You are guessing correctly. The more dense the material the more X-Rays it will absorb. When you look at an X-Ray, bones appear white, that is because they absorbed most of the X-Rays and the X-Rays did not reach the film. On a chest X-Ray the lungs appear near black or very dark, your lungs are full of air, not dense, therefore more X-Rays pass through and reach the X-Ray film. You can see hair and skin on an X-Ray, depending on technical factors (KVp)I will not go into.

The absorption of x-rays and other electromagnetic radiation (that is what x-rays are) is governed by the energy of x-rays and the absorption coefficient of the material through which they pass. Normally the higher the density, the higher the absorption and thus out of the choices listed, bone is the one with maximum density and hence maximum absorption. Muscles may be next.
Remember, the more the absorption, the less the amount of radiation passing through to the film and hence less darkening. So bones will appear light in the film which is a negative image.
If you use very soft x-rays, you can probably differntiate skin, muscle and hairs on the skin etc. or you may need to use backscatter electrons to build the image.
By the way soft x-rays are of lower energy and are produced at lower voltage settings, compared to hard x-rays which are more energetic and are produced at higher voltage.

X-rays are stopped by bones.
The rest hair, muscle and skin absorb X-rays.

Bones absorb x-rays much more than muscle, which allows most (but not all) to pass through. Skin and hair are invisible to x-rays

x-rays are not absorbed. They change the anatomic structure in atoms
