Yes you can do it yourself, if your know what your doing. Go to your hardware store and find out some about it. most will be glad to help you out. You could also call up one of them vacuum trucks places, and they could clean it out for you. Most likely it is to full of old paper and stuff. Also use RID-X in you drains, it helps to break down all the sludge.

The first thing you probably need to do is pump out your septic tank. Then you'll need to dig up the leech lines and depending on where you are, you may need to put in a filter system of some kind. I had to install a sand filter myself, and with me doing all the work, it still cost $3000 for materials. I have my own backhoe and truck so that will cost extra if you have to have someone else do that. You might be able to get by with just pumping it out. If you don't have to dig up any lines you won't have to replace all that. In some locales, if you disturb them you have to repair all of it!! Good Luck, hope this helped!

i agree with all above plus if sewer service may have been ran,it may not be legal to repair, pump tank make sure the baffle or T is in place on the outlet side that prevents outlet pipe from clogging up,if thats the case it may not be hard to fix depending on the depth

Hello Rudy,
Sure you can fix them but unless you know what you are doing you may do more harm then good.
What are they doing?
