people get all stressed and sad and depressed about it when they're single and don't have a "valentine". and people who aren't single do the same thing when they don't necessarily get what they want when this day rolls around. i don't see what the big deal is either way. it's just another day to me. hell, i don't think you should reserve the celebration of your love for your significant other/friends/family on just one day, you should do it every day if you really love them, even if it's just in a small way. why do people make such a fuss about valentine's day?

I agree about loving your spouse every day.
Valentines day is a way of FORCING many men to FINALLY show their loved ones exactly how much they love them. That is why so many guys are in the grocery store in Valentines Day, just before they go home from work, buying flowers and a card for their spouses and girlfriends.

I think it's another of those days like Christmas, where we're given the idea that if you have someone you love, they "should" do certain things on Valentine's day. When people don't do what we expect them to do (however unrealistic the expectation), we are often disappointed.

for some it is a day that they think that their loved one should go out and spend a million dallars on them if he has that much, it is a day for them to get sweet cards, and candy, flowers, and be told that the man that they love, loves them too, and is showing it by buying them only the best, cause for some people only the best is what they want, and that is why they enjoy this hoilday, to get more stuff out of their love.
