Lets say you are on offense and a jump ball occurs, does it count as a turnover if they gain possession? Or what if you are on defense and you cause a jumpball, is it a steal?

Actually it doesnt count as a turnover because it is a "dead ball" which means its up for grabs

jump ball should be a no-possession stat. only fouls should be recorded during jumpballs. the rest start when possession has been established.
