What is wrong with you? Would you want full beer cups thrown at you? Not to mention that there's a reasonable chance that the nail that the US's goalkeeper fell on during warm-ups was thrown on the field by a Mexican fan. Would you want that to happen to you? Of course not. It's perfectly reasonable for the players not to want stuff thrown at them during a game, and it's perfectly reasonable for US fans to complain when that happens. The only thing unreasonable in this situation is for Mexican fans to behave that way and for people like you to think that it's normal, acceptible behavior. ...And incidentally, I didn't see any of the US players complaining about having things thrown at them; I guess they're used to that sort of thing happening in a game against Mexico, so they just continued going about their business. But they shouldn't have to do that.

Throwing things at players isn't good, whether it's US or Mexico or any other country. If you allow fans to throw things at players, pretty soon you'll have a riot. Then the games will be like those in Italy, where some games are played without anybody watching, to avoid bad behavior from fans. That's no fun.

I agree with Frank N Stein, It's just wrong! and the worst thing is, sometimes is not pop drinks in those cups!!! One thing is throwing confetti, and being completely loud cheering or booing another thing is to disrespect fellow fans! come on! what's wrong with some people! How about when s**t like that falls on a child or your head? I don't think anyone would like that! or would you!

You have never played any sport at any major venue.
Get this straight... these are players playing a game. Thats their job. They souldn't have to worry about what fans are doing while they are doing their job. How would you like it if someone came to your job and kicked the d!cks out of your mouth?

So, in your worldview, when someone is boorish and rude and engages in acts of violence, it's the *victim* who 'can't take it.' Do you apply this logic to the women you rape?
In the US it's considered unsporting to throw things at *anyone* - let alone the players. Apparently Pedro and the chavs haven't developed that level of civilization yet.

Are you saying that just because it happens in a lot of stadiums and countries, that it's right? Throwing things on the field in any sport is wrong. It doesn't matter who the target is.

come on, It's soccer!! Have you seen european or south-american matches between 2 arch-rivals??? You should be watching baseball or "american" football instead...
Is funny to watch the US fans on TV or at the stadium, cheering like they were watching any american sport other than soccer, it's hillarious... US fans just doesn't "fit"........

That's what happens with 3rd world type mindsets - they direct their frustrations at the players and often express themselves through violent ways - it's not that Americans can't take it, it's the losers with no clue as to what sportsmanship is all about. Shameful!!
