Oh..wow. I've read the book and saw the movie after. I really don't know which one I like best. The movie was a lot ligther than the book, that's for sure. I like them both because the movie was heartfelt but not aggressive, and the book showed more of the reality of the industry, how rough it really is and how one individual is able to endure it all. Anne Hathaway and Meryl Streep were amazing at their respective roles and portrayed the characters with loyalty to the book but put their own twist to them. In the movie, I didn't hate Miranda as much. While in the movie I had a bittersweet opinion of her. Still, I am undecided on which one I like more.

I read the book and then saw the movie when the book was still pretty fresh in my mind. I really enjoyed the book and when the movie was so different I was very upset. I didn't understand why some of the stuff was even bothered changing. Like Andie's boyfriend's name. Why bother changing it for the movie? That's just really stupid. I think I would have liked the movie had I not read the book first. When I read the book I always scrutinize the movie to the content of the book and oftentimes get upset. So I've vowed to stop doing that. I'll see the movie first because then I don't compare them. Don't really know why, but that's just how I am...

Anyways, if you'd forgotten my answer after all that rambling: I loved the movie, practically hated the movie.

Generally the book version, because it has more detail, especially with regards to characters. But sometimes it just depends on what I come across first. I have seen a few movies that were better than the book.

I really enjoyed the movie...but I thought the book was only okay. I thought it got really whinney and boring towards the end.
