I blead, and serviced the radiators, as I do every year. The furnace is in excellent condition, but cannot seem to find the problem. I did however, recently rehabbed my basement apartment and had the radiators removed from the basement. (Installed wall heaters) Could this have been the cause of the problem?

I assume that you are using hot water circulating system so :
1- Check suction strainer of the pump , clean it .
2- Purge out all air entrapped in the system , specially heating radiators and high level pipes , repeat purging several times until you get good result
3- You can install automatic air vent valve on the highest pipe level
4- If you haven't strainer , you may need to clean pump impeller
I hope this help , to get your building warm again , good luck

What do you mean by "wall heaters"? Did you remove your old steam radiators and replace them with hot water baseboard heaters? Did you replace them with electric wall mount heaters?

In any event, one of two things probably happened. If you installed baseboard hot water heat, you might have pinched down the supply pipe size to the point that you do not get adequate flow to the old radiators down line. If you installed wall mount electric heaters, you may have inadvertantly blocked or cutoff one of the steam loops to your old radiators.

In either case, best advice is to seek the services of an experienced HVAC contractor to diagnose the problem. They will charge you a few bucks for a service call, but at least you will know the extent of the problem. Whether or not you choose to have the HVAC contractor fix it, or do it yourself is up to you.

Good luck with your heating problem.

nicely, it wont be the reason for it overheating, even though it received't enable the propper pressure to realese on the right time. it is going to be overheating even as the cap easily releases pressure. The cap acts as a pressure regulator. i might want to have the cap replaced.
