I wasn't worried about them because I know a lot of babies can get them and it's no big deal, but hers are getting darker. Is this the sign of a medical problem I should be aware of? Or some kind of nutritional deficiency? We just moved and don't have a pediatrician yet, so I have no one to call, and this seems kind of pointless to make a whole appointment over unless it could be a symptom of something more serious.

Thanks! :)

My daughter gets em mostly when she's tired. If she hasn't had a restful sleep. Just keep and eye on it and find a pediatrician soon. I think she's just tired with all the excitement of moving and I'm sure the schedule hasn't been exactly the same. She'll be fine. I'm mom to 3.

There are many causes of dark circles, from age, heredity, allergies, cold or sinus infection, bone structure and glasses which are not so commonly known.

If you would like to apply home remedies to reduce dark circles, here are some of my suggestions:

Buy a box of regular, old fashioned unflavored gelatin (e.g. Knox) from grocery store. Take a small cup or bowl and put in 1 teaspoon of the gelatin mix. Add one tablespoon of boiling water & stir for a minute. Test it on your wrist to make sure it is not too hot. Then, using a cotton ball, pat it under your eyes as you would an eye cream or gel. Go lie down and listen to some music, or take a bath & let it stay on for at least 30 minutes. Then just rinse it off.Gelatin is very high in Vitamin K & Biotin. It will not remove your dark circles on the first application (but you will notice a difference), but if you do it daily for a week, and then 2-3 times a week for maintenance, you should notice a drastic reduction in dark circles.

I'd make an appointment with a doctor. My brothers and I are anemic and we used to get really bad circles under our eyes when we were young. The doctor prescribed iron supplements for us--that's all--but infancy is a very important time to make sure your child is getting enough iron.

milk allergy, so many kids have it, switch to soy formula, if breast feeding avoid cheese and milk. this should help. i would try this for two weeks, you should see significant improvement. you have nothing to lose and everything to gain.i have a child care and this usually works.
