We researched before getting our daughter her first car last March. We found this website extremely helpful! http://www.nhtsa.dot.gov/cars/testing/ncap/Index2.cfm
We initially were looking for a newer Chrysler Sebring which has a sporty look and are very safe, but ended up getting her a Buick Riviera, which is built like a tank, and a nice 2 door luxury car with all the bellls and whistles! But check out the safety record on the above link, because even though the make is the same, the year of the car will change on the safety record on all cars listed. Hope this helps!! Happy hunting!

A focus or neon. Both are affordable, safe, good on gas, have low insurance rates, are great first time driver cars, and dont land in the shop too often.
I wouldn't get a honda. Yes, they're decent cars but they're pricy and if something does go wrong with it, its very expensive to repair.

L - Lake velocity, one among my favourite racing names EVER! Gloria were given me questioning about O and that i checked racing-connection with see if i ought to locate any. there have been a number of obscure drivers whose first call begins with O, like Ole Anderson, Oda Greene, Ollie Olson and Oren Prosser. the most recent one i found become Orvil Reedy, he become in a finished of twenty-2 Busch sequence races from 1982-1986. He had a occupation best of 10th, at Richmond, and earned $7,385 throughout his short NASCAR stint. Dale Quarterly, Tom Quinney and German Quiroga have all raced in the Busch sequence yet i could not locate any first call starting off with Q. Zane Howell drove in a unmarried Grand nationwide race, in 1952. He got here in 14th and earned $25 in a race gained through Tim Flock at Playland Park Speedway in South Bend, IN.

who told you Honda's were safe?
the absolute most important thing is you DO NOT buy a new car.
you will ruin it weather you want to or not, even IF you somehow don't total it when you go to sell it, it will be ruined. maybe another dumb kid would buy it. but once a teenage girl has driven it the resale value is much lower.
if you ruin your credit by buying a new car at 16, where will you get money to replace it when you **** it all up?
do not buy a new car.
old Volvo's are much safer anyway, can be bought fairly cheap, will always be worth what you paid, and when you have been driving it for 9 months you will actually know what details really matter to you.

I have a Ford Escort and haven't had any problems with it. It's very good on gas and holds the road nicely. I've had a Ford Tempo before and it was good as well.
