Asexual reproduction depends on cells making more body cells. Mitosis divides the copied nucleus evenly so each of the daughter cells has a complete set of DNA.

it is the whole basis of asexual reprodutction...mitosis is the division of the nucleous after the DNA has been copied-but it leaves both new nuclei with complete sets of chromosomes, so when cytokinesis happens, the two daughter cells are complete and identical-they're clones unless a mutation occurs
