is it just me or was this seasons american idol not as funny as the other seasons?

like the seasons before i think they had clips of people singing and it was like 10 seconds long not 5 min for every single person

I'm not really sure because I've only started watching it this season so I don't have anything to compare it too. But I do realize that the clips do get kind of long.
