Everytime I put in a CD in my drive, I get an error message saying "Windows cannot read from this disk. The disk might be corrupted, or it could be using a format that is not compatible with Windows."

HELP??

Most likely it's a bad drive. If the CD's work in other CD/DVD drives then it's not bad media. Try uninstalling the device and let Windows redetect it on reboot.

Turn off your p.c. and make sure that all the cables that connect the motherboard to the hard disks are securely connected. Also, take the initiative to clean your c.p.u. in case its very dirty inside. Start Windows in safe mode, with networking if possible. You can use the System Restore feature of Windows to get you back to time where everything is working fine. Check also if you have the most current drivers for your hard disks.

Try different CDs. If none work, your drive has problems, if some do then you have bad discs.
