Australia followed by SA,have a good winning percentage and are likely to win
But,the World Cup is such a tournament, that a side , that ,somehow manages to reach the semis and plays well in the next 2
crucial matches becomes the World Champion
The teams that win consistently throughout the year need
not win the WC
So,even NZ can win if they play well in the super 8,which they will easily reach
So,it's a matter of who plays well in the WC.

Well, I differ with you.
1. With Symonds being on injury list, it would be very difficult for Aussies. I think and hope that time would prove me right, Hussey and Ponting have been playing well for quite a long time and this World Cup they might see a bit of downfall. With this, Aussies does not look that formidable and well England proved that point in the Finals of common wealth series.
2.South Africa definitely looks good and the way they trounced India and Pak proves it, but how effective they would be on slow pitches remains to be seen.
3. India certainly looks very good, their batting looks settled with Ganguly in opening and playing as he used to do in his heydays. Well India could be darkhorse and certainly stands a better chance than Sri Lanka. However, one can not rule out Sri Lanka purely on count of Murali, as tracks in west indies would suit him perfectly and on his day, even 10 overs of his could turn one of the crucial match in favour of Sri Lanka. Remember, the Champions trophy match in Sri Lanka, when they beat Aussies comfortably.
All other teams also stands chance, but of these, England and Pak looks good. Pak will be strengthened by Akthar and Gul. England with return of Vaughan and Peiterson looks very different side. Look for England playing a better game in this world cup.
My 4 semifinal teams would be
India
South Africa
Sri Lanka
England.
Yes, surprise of all surprises, Aussies does not feature and time only will prove it. From, there onwards, it could be any team emerging as winner.

Australia, South Africa & England have equal chances
West Indies stands next
I find India, SriLanka, Newzeland & Pakistan can dream only
with various reasons
India can never achieve anything GUD under Rahul Dravid's incapable & poor captaincy along with his non competent & non agressive attittude.

I agree, except England have a better chance than 23.
I am Australian, and they were very good in the finals series over here. Especially Collingwood, watch him in the World Cup.
