I wear perfume regularly and was wondering if it is unhealthy during pregnancy. I've heard some essential oils are harmful.

Regular perfume is fine. The only advice I have is if your having any bouts of morning sickness, do not, I repeat, do not wear a favorite perfume. I had a certain perfume I loved to wear before I got pregnant with my oldest daughter. I could not stand the smell when I was pregnant, and it literally made me sick. To this day I can NOT stand the smell of this perfume. It still makes me queasy. My daughter is now 5! Thank God I had no morning sickness with my youngest!

Perfume is fine but do lay off the essential oils. Just remember to use a small amount of perfume. Your body chemistry works differently during pregnancy and can make your perfume seem stronger.

I never heard of such a thing during my pregnancy (or any other time, for that matter). If you are worried, you could spray the perfume on your clothing rather than your skin.

The only thing I've heard about perfume and babies is that it is better to not wear it when the child is a newborn if you plan to breastfeed.

I do not think so. I wear them, although I can't wear some because they are stronger than before I got pregnant. Perfumes are perfectly fine if you can stand them.

It depends whats in it. In most cases it was because the wearer was allergic to a component of the perfume. Just make sure your not allergic to it, and you will be fine!

I wore perfume when I was pregnant. My kids are fine. If you're concerned, just spray it on your clothes and not your skin.
