we have medicaid now but will also have private insurance after march 1st. my husband is hoping the baby will wait until march to come because of the financial issue. i'm curious how much we should expect to pay the hospital or doctor after the baby is born.

i personally want this baby to come asap because i'm so uncomfortable. my due date is march 5th but the ob says the baby is full term and if he came out today he would be healthy and able to come home with me.

My insurance had a $250 deductible and then 70% coverage for most things (though they covered some at 80%, don't know why). So even with insurance, we paid about $4000 out of pocket for my repeat c-section. My pregnancy fell over 2 different coverage periods so I had to pay the deductible twice for myself then once for the baby. And all the bills without insurance were upwards of $20,000. That was 6 months ago in Idaho.

Medicaid pays for it all. I had medicaid with my daughter, now I am 6 weeks pregnant and hoping I qualify again. The pregnancy is unexpected and we don't have the money for insurance!

You shouldn't have told them about the private insurance, you run the risk of them dropping you NOW, medicaid is for the uninsured and if they know or think you are going to have insurance they can drop you with little to NO notice.

My daughter no longer qualified Nov. 30th because they say we make too much money (yet we can barely pay our bills with the little we make at Wal-Mart) and I recieved the notice on December 1st AFTER they dropped me! Actually they didn't GIVE me a reason, but when I reapplied they said I make too much money and same for Famis!!!

Hey! My baby is due march 11th and my ob just told me that she is full term and can be born at any time too!! Sorry, i'm just excited!

Medicaid will pay for everything. You dont get any bills for anything. So try not to worry about that. Good luck and take care!!!

i have medicaid, aka healthy kids. And i just had my baby 2 weeks ago, i didnt have to pay for anything in the hospital. They gave me breakfast, lunch, and dinner everyday and free bottles and diapers to use for the baby and anything that you need. I also had a C section too. So i stayed in the hospital for about 4 days. The only thing they dont do, is pay for the husband to eat. of coarse all hospitals can be different and have different rules too.

Good luck and i hope i helped

If you have medicaid, they should pay for it all. Private insurance you could be looking at half, depending on what kind it is. Ask the insurance provider for ball park figures. My son was born under medicaid and I didn't have to pay anything.

If you have medicaid it covers everything you shouldnt told them about your private insurance. Use your medicaid.

You shouldn't have to pay a dime, medicaid pays more than any insurance company would ever pay.

I dont think they other ins will cover anything for the delivery. But Medicaid should pay it all I would think. Never used it but I think it is totally covered.
