My computer is password protected. I'm mainly looking for programs that tell me at least if someone tried turning on my computer, at most if someone tried logging on but kept entering the wrong password. If I can already access that info on my computer anyways could someone tell me how?

If you right click "my computer" and goto manage, you will should see the mmc open with the computer management snap in window. look for the Event Viewer and expand it. Then you should see the Security log and it will show you all failed and successful attempts at logging into your machine. This method is not best mitigation strategy but will get you in the right direction on understanding event logs.

Assuming you are using a Windows PC you can check the eventlogs of your computer and set security audits on it as well. This can tell you successful or unsuccessfull attempts at logging in to your computer.

For this to work you will have to setup your auditing to do this you must go to your control panel, once there click on Administrative tools, look for Local Security Policy. Expand Local Policy, then select Audit Policy. On the right hand pane select Audit logon events, select failures.

That should be what you are looking for...
