Were planning on going to Disney in Orlando on May 7th -9th. Have you been there at this time? How crowded is it? I googled best times but oddly enough May didnt even come up.

I've been there a few times around this time frame, and it is far from the worst time to visit. Your crowds are a little heavier than the off season, but the off season can also be bad because that is when a lot of refurbishments happen so rides may be closed.

You will be missing the spring break time frame when it will be really crowded. But, you are getting closer to summer so it will be getting warmer and crowds will start to pick up somewhat for summer. Since it is getting close to the end of school, finals, etc. not as many people skip.

Your crowds will not be the worst they can be, but they also won't be real low, you will fall right in between.

Personally, I like this time of year myself because you get a nice crowd level, okay weather wise and you still get to see everything.

Have a great time!

The best time to go to Disney world Is the week before presidents day or either like the second or third week in september. The crowds are less because school is in and the temps are much more mild. disney World also offers discounts if traveling during an off time. Check out this web site it is called Deb's All Ears has a ton of info. I hope you have a magical trip.

As others have mentioned, it can be a bit crowded that time of year. However it isn't nearly as bad as June, July or August - which are the worst times to visit in my opinion (heat/humidity/crowds/etc...).

Your attitude plays a big part in how you enjoy your trip. If you worry about lines and stress about crowds your entire trip - you are not going to enjoy yourself. But if you put yourself in the right frame of mind and say, "It's going to be crowded - so how can I make the best of it?" instead... then you'll have a much more enjoyable vacation.

If you plan to stay on Disney property, take advantage of extra magic hours! Also take advantage of the fast pass kiosks (whether you stay at a Disney hotel or not). Know which rides will be closed during your stay (check this in "operational updates" at http://www.disneyworld.com) and know what the park hours are, etc...

According to the official Walt Disney World website, the time you're going is a time of "Moderate Attendance." It will be fairly crowded, but not too crowded. I think you'll be all set because April Vacation will be ending for the children, so a lot of the families will probably be leaving and the crowds'll die down for a while. My little sister will be going to Walt Disney World with her father the week before.

Anyway, this is exactly what the official Walt Disney World website says about their attendance...

"Although special events and promotions may influence Theme Park attendance levels, the following list highlights historic attendance trends throughout the year:

Lowest Attendance: January (except New Year's Day) until just prior to Presidents' week in February
The week following Labor Day until just prior to Thanksgiving week
The week following Thanksgiving until the week prior to Christmas

Moderate Attendance: After Presidents' week in February through early March
Late April through early June (except Memorial Day weekend)
The first part of Thanksgiving week

Highest Attendance: Presidents' week in February
Mid-March through Late April ("Spring Break")
Memorial Day weekend
Mid-June through Labor Day
Thanksgiving Day and weekend
Christmas week through New Year's Day

During regular attendance periods the Theme Parks tend to be the busiest on the following days:
Magic Kingdom Park: Monday, Thursday, and Saturday
Epcot: Tuesday and Friday
Disney-MGM Studios: Sunday and Wednesday
Disney's Animal Kingdom Theme Park: Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday"

Hope I could help! Have a magical time!

Ugh, its gonna be HOT!!! And also crowded! Long lines in the heat, sounds like fun!!!
Traffic is miserable, too! I avid going to Orlando during that time, traffic is bad when I have to drive there.
Good luck though, maybe you will get lucky and it wont be that!

Should be a good time. Most schools are still in session. U may get some large groups of foreigners but they are always there. Should not be as crowed as the summer.

I went at this time and it really wasn't bad! This should be before most schools get out, however there may be some school field trips there. When we went there were but the lines weren't bad.

VERY crowded, and getting pretty high temps by that time of year (particularly in the main park...lots of pavement and concrete.)

FYI - June is worse (Honeymooned there the first week of June 17 years ago)
