Ideally you'd become a meterologist, which means that you would study to get an understanding of weather phenomena and the systems that produce them.

To simply report weather on television or radio without being a meteorologist, all one has to be/do is look/sound good and be able to read and speak clearly and distinctly, more or less.
To become an actual meteoroligist, the prerequisites are quite demanding. It requires heavy math, physics, chemistry, English, calculus and analytical geometry, technical writing, thermodynamics, etc.

Basically for women to be an excellent weather person she would have to be learned and educated in the same manner as men in the same field.

May I recommend that you ask a weather woman personally? E-mail or call a local media (tv, radio, etc.) station. Our answers won't help you as much as a personal interview or three.
