Considering that the idea of an infant with a bow and arrow was initially an attempt to con the masses into thinking that Nimrod had been reincarnated into the child Semiramis delivered, what we've done with him is rather astonishing. But neither Nimrod nor the "child god" had anything to do with love. Later pagan stories turned Semiramis into Venus . . . then her winged, armed child had to go the same route. I'm sure he'd rather be out hunting leopards.
