As part of a "drug free workplace" can an employeer req me to inform them of any criminal drug or alcohol arrest or conviction within 24 hours? I have been employed with this company for 4 years already.
Thanks

I don't see how they could make you tell them about an arrest because an arrest does not mean that you are automatically guilty, you have to be convicted first. What if you were in the wrong place at the wrong time and inadvertantly got arrested and then they released you because you were innocent? You shouldn't have to tell this to your employer.

If it is enacted as a new policy, they can make inform them. They may also choose to grandfather you in under a clause if you are a good employee and have shown that you no longer engage in such activities.

Absolutely. Even if you don't tell them, they can do a background check on you.
