I am in a college physiology lab and we have a quiz everyday before we start the lab. And this day just so happened to be the day that I got my period back after a long time without it and so it was a big one...and I had a feminine emergency and took my bag and purse during the middle of the quiz and went to the bathroom. Well when I was in the bathroom...I was thinking that I really didn't know a couple of answers...actually a lot of them. I'm not stupid I just didn't have time that day to look over what we did last time. And so then I realized that I had my book wit me and I opened it just for a second and then all of a sudden some girl comes in to the BR and it's my damn TA. And now I just got an email from the bigitty wiggity teacher of the class (but he's never there) that he needs to see me about a situation or he'll refer me to Judicial affairs. In the syllabus it says any cheating whatsoever is an F for the class. Am i doomed or am I doomed? I;m really not a bad person !!!!!!!!

As someone who has worked at a university, here's my advice . . .

You may not be a "bad person" but you made a pretty big mistake. It was wrong and it was stupid. Even good people can do some really bad or really foolish things. You're not invincible. Recognize this, use it as a wake up call, and take full responsibility for what you have done.

At this point, you MUST be *completely* honest with your TA, professor, and any judicial affairs people you encounter. Lying will only make your situation worse. They will be able to figure out if you lie to them - trust me.

Also change your attitude immediately! If you think of your prof as a "biggity wiggity" and your TA as the "damn TA" you are only making things worse. You are being VERY disrespectful. Professors and TA's are much less likely to "go easy" on a student who has no respect for their authority. And they can figure out when a student has no respect. Now is not the time to be proud - it's the time to grovel. Show some respect - you're the one who screwed up, not them. Even if the professor is inattentive to the students, that's no excuse for cheating. And generally in large college classes, it is the prof's job to handle this stuff - not the TA's.

Be honest, be respectful, and after that hope for the best. A lot will depend on your school's policy on cheating. At worst you will fail the course. Use it as a life lesson or a "wake up call" and move on - it's better to learn the hard way now when you're young then to learn it years down the road when a career is at stake.

Ooooops !!! God, that is so unlucky !!! I feel for you cos Teachers are pretty straight laced at the best of times. Maybe you could say that you saw the notebook on the floor and realised somebody would be terribly stressed about losing it. Sooooooo you picked it up and had just opened it to see whose it was, not realising it was the notebook you had misplaced this morning, when the aforementioned nice little girlies walked in and totally misconstrued the whole situation !!!

if chose to use that version, you would have to make sure you didn't rat on about it. You know, just explain when asked and if asked repetitively you'd have to get rather indigant and pointedly enquire as to whether they have a problem with the English language or are they just mentally challenged or something??? Basically, lie your girly little butt off................. !! : 0 )

PEACE BABY

P.S. Don't worry, cos all u need to remember girl is dat u so fine and it's jus mind over matter.

PPS. Nooooooooooooo, honesty is NOT always the best policy. Especially in the Education system. Not only will they think you are a scheming pathological liar, but they will tell all their anal little friends about it !!!!

Unfortunetly you were caught red handed! Lying about is will make the situation worse so my advice is to admit that you fell into temptation, apologize, and promise it won't happen again. This will more than likely still find you with an F for the class but if you keep studying and pass the rest of the quizzes you will be fine for your semester grade. Good luck!
