Well it depends. When playing bass its better to have large fingers to change from fret to fret much easier. Plus its harder to be creative on a bass but it depends on what you like. As for the guitars, either one can be good. Its not the type of guitar that makes it harder or easier but the style such as finger picking or using a pick. Also depends on what music you're into. If you want to play lighter cleaner songs then the acoustic is nice but if you want to play some bluesy stuff, heavy metal, play solos with dive bombs and so on then electric is better. Frankly I like the electric guitar better but thats because I like heavy metal music so I love a distorted guitar.

each of these guitars has its advantages as well as disadvantages. The bass is the EASIEST to learn to play, since it has only 4 strings and is primarily used to keep the beat of the song. However, because it is the cleanest sounding of the three instruments, it requires a great deal of technique in order to pull off a song.
Acoustic guitar is a bit harder, since it has 2 more strings, but you can accompany yourself while singing, which is cool... if you are that good. The downside is the fact that it is also a clean sounding instrument, which makes it hard to cover up your mistakes. The strings are also under more tension than an electric guitar, thus taking longer to get your finger strength built up to a point where you can play well and for long periods of time.
Now, for the electric guitar: Advantages are lower string tension, and the ability to use a distortion pedal to mask your lack of technique while learning. Adding distortion to your guitar sounds is the easiest way to hide mistakes becasue there is so much sound coming out of the amp.
The biggest disadvantage is that you also have to buy an amp to get sound out of your guitar (as well as having extremely understanding and tolerant neighbors and/or family members).
Finally, guitar tablature is by far the easiest way to learn guitar on your own because you simply have to place your fingers where the numbers are. This doesn't make it a "no brainer" but its a whole lot easier than going to school for years to learn musical notation and theory.
so make a choice, and cough up some bucks... rock on!
good luck

I think you should get electric guitar, when you have an acoustic you are more limited to what songs you can play. If you are on a low budget i would suggest a squier '51, for a more high budget i would say eather a Fender Stratocaster or Gibson Les Paul depending on what type of music you are into. Tabs can be hard or very easy, they dont teach you notes so if you plan on making your own music you wont learn notes youll only know how to cover other peoples songs. I would suggest taking lessons but if you really dont want to then there are plenty of DVD's that can teach you how to play guitar and will give you techniques that you wouldnt be able to find out on your own.
good luck!

I first learned on an acoustic, but an electric is much easier on the fingers. Bass guitars are like a subset of a regular electric. It only has 4 strings, so it's a little easier to master, but you don't play songs with it, just the bass runs.
Best bet is to go into a guitar store and try a bunch of them out. That way you can find what you're most comfortable with.

An Acoustic Guitar is the best to learn on. I recomend a Fender, they are a little more expensive but if you can find a good used one that's the best. As far as tabs go they show you where to play without you really learning the notes but you don't really learn how to read music and with tabs you can't really get the right rythm. Sheet music is the best way to learn. Learning by friend is ok but i would really recommend lessons.

No particular guitar is easier, but I think you should buy the guitar based on what music you plan on playing. Get an electric for blues, rock, punk, and metal. Get and acoustic for country, indie, and folk music. An electric bass is used in many different music styles, so you can try that if you have no particular preference. Personally, i reccomend and electric guitar, that's what I started to learn with.
