First off, Anne frank is a girl not boy as you mentioned "is it made up by his father, otto ?!" Second, Anne wrote in a diary, but the screenplay which you probably read was written by her dad, but it was based off her diary. He didn't falsify things much if at all. Hope that helps.

It's a great book which every kid should read, regardless. I remember reading somewhere that her father did edit bits out. Frank never expected the diary to be read and the level of intimacy she felt comfortable expressing was probably not something her father wanted the world to see. Whatever reaction an unadulterated version would get nowadays, the edited work still carries her powerful story across.

The Diary of Anne Frank is exactly what the title says it is. It's a book containing the honest and truthful reflection of event that Anne experienced during the Holocaust. When she passed, her father found the diary and published it. I highly doubt that he would tamper with his dear daughter's inner most thoughts and personal journals on the terrifying happenings during the Holocaust. Hope this helped.

It's too pure for a man, especially a holocaust survivor, to write. The writing is just too trusting and hopeful to be edited to the point where it's fake.
Personally I KNOW that the Diary of Anne Frank is an honest protrayal of the life of a young holocaust victim.

The diary of Anne Frank is real.
And they get the story from her diary...they found it in the place her family was hiding and they put the story together from it.

Anne Frank's diary was found after she was incinerated and to even think that someone would falsify the last thoughts of an innocent child is hideous, you should be ashamed of yourself for even considering questioning it.

She was a real person, and her story is true. The diary is real, but was *heavily* edited. Some parts have still never been released.

um no its nto fake, she wrote it until she was caught by the nazis and they believe she died within a few weeks of teh camp liberations, very sad, such a wonderful young girl. this is a very insightful first hand work of life and growing up in hiding during a trying time. her father did edit the work and omitted a few passages taht were not flattering to him and her grandmother( not sure about teh grandmother though)
