Nothing is wrong with being a liberal. I to would tatoo liberal on my forehead and wear it without a hat. I can proudly say I care more about the country then I do the democratic party, but the democratic party also matches my vision for America.

Listening to you Liberals on your version of history would make being a liberal sound OK. Unfortunately what you are saying is factually incorrect. Some liberals mainly from the north eastern section of America had some influence in legislation. But the emancipation proclamation was pronounced by Pres. Lincoln, "not a Liberal", and Liberals did not end segregation, if you read the minutes of this historical piece of legislation you will find Republicans provided the means to Cloture in order to vote and pass this legislation.
This is from the senate website listed in source:
Georgia Democrat Richard Russell offered the final arguments in opposition. Minority Leader Everett Dirksen, who had enlisted the Republican votes that made cloture a realistic option, spoke for the proponents with his customary eloquence. Noting that the day marked the 100th anniversary of Abraham Lincoln's nomination to a second term, the Illinois Republican proclaimed, in the words of Victor Hugo, "Stronger than all the armies is an idea whose time has come."
And as far as the clean air and water act, again these bills would not have advanced without Republicans supporting these issues.
In fact it was the noted Liberal Richard M. Nixon, LOL, that signed the Clean Air Act that introduced stiff regulations by the EPA, and added teeth to the earlier versions that had no regulation or penalties. And another noted liberal in President Bush that signed the 1990 Water act, again with teeth.
So you see maybe you are more a Republican than you think. I respect your opinion and no one should wear a label they don't understand or appreciate, but perhaps a more open mind into the compromise parties make to create laws that will better serve the population as a whole would be warrented

I want to answer this question, there is nothing wrong with liberalized thinking and if that fits you, I hope you do show the world how you think. As to the liberals being responsible for all good works, you are incorrect. When making statements that you think are fact to enforce the reasons you think the way you do, have a little more respect for your self and know the facts before you speak. Alice Paul a “conservative” spent much of her life fighting for women’s rights and was responsible the presentation of the Equal Rights Amendment . In addition, you will be surprised to find who voted for it and against it if you would now take the time. Abraham Lincoln signed the Emancipation Proclamation outlawing the practice of slavery. Lincoln was not a democrat he belonged to the National Union ticket and he held conservative views. I have no ax to grind other than people today speek with out really knowing what they are talking about, and others that do the same hearing what you say will patriot it as fact themselves. I takes all sides to make a difference don't misrepresent any side be factual!

George McGovern- Liberal- wanted to stop integrated schools.
Social security only help a few people that didnt have to pay for it but received it in the very begining and turned into nothing but a tax or a fund to raid.
Southern Democrats fillibustered the civil rights bill but it passed anyway thanks to Republicans.
I think you should check facts about the people you support before you tell everyone how proud you are to be a liberal. Your just young im guessing.

Nothing is wrong with being liberal or conservative. It's the people at the extreme left or right that something is wrong with. Most of the programs you wrote about were from the same person that put Japanese-Americans in an interment camps.

liberals have done a lot of good things for this country and due to recent times have been looked on as being weak hearted and among other things i can't say on his website and i think its unfortunate. i myself, NOT being a liberal, say its good that we have you guys around so it doesn't make all Americans look like we want to rule the world, because i am definitely one of the gung-ho Americans who want to take out terrorism, and do support the war, so i say, to each there own, there's nothing wrong with being a liberal.

It is the methods of liberals that rub people the wrong way.
There are goals and means of achieving goals. You automatically assume that just because someone apposes your means, they appose the goals. For instance African Americans. You blame society for their poverty. I do not. I want them to get ahead, but they have to take responsibility for their own actions and stop blaming others. That is my opinion. But if I express that opinion I am labeled a racist.
When you disagree with someones opinion you heckle them. Global warming for instance. I heard someone say they do that because they are afraid that people might believe them. What they are really saying is that I am intelligent enough to know right from wrong, but the majority of the population lack my intelligence; therefore, I will try and silence them. This arrogance rubs me the wrong way.
I dislike your use of violence in demonstrations.
You ridicule me for my religious beliefs. That shows a lack of respect for human beings. You preach tolerance, but that shows intolerance. If you disagree with me, engage me in a civilized debate, but do not call me an idiot.
I dislike the feminists stance that because I am a man, I am capable of rape. I dislike the notion that if a women gets drunk and initiates sex, the man is guilty of rape.
They are many more reason, but I think you get the drift.

There is absolutely nothing wrong with being either a liberal or a conservative.
That's the great thing about this country. We can all believe as we like when it comes to politics, morals, faith, etc.
What's that saying?
"I may not agree with what you say, but I will defend to the death your right to say it."

Absolutely nothing. Oh wait, one of the problems is dealing with conservatives. If it wasn't for that it would be a cakewalk.
I asked a question similar to this earlier, http://answers.yahoo.com/question/index;_ylt=Ahf_Tx0rqC.xG3G3FlIWaEbsy6IX?qid=20070123205550AAbc6py and the responses I got tried were all fingers pointing at the old Democrats of the 1800s or Southern Democrats. Funny, because I didn't even mention the Democratic Party in the question.
Conservatives may do the same to you.

Mrs. Truth
You are right on. I'm glad you mentioned this. I've often thought
this and if you listen to the republicans, they use it like a four
letter word. Democrats are never referred to as such, they use
it as a slur. I'm proud to be a liberal. We think outside the box, they're stuck in the mud. Republicans are the first ones to want
to fry gays, but it seems to always be their side of the fence getting busted for things, like gay congressman, inappropriate e-mails to pages, their conservative leaders(see ted haggard) telling us how to live and calling us gay lovers and then getting caught with male escorts. But afterall, the KKK were hardcore God fearing, family values, conservatives and we know how that
turned out. Be proud to be called a liberal!
Blitz H- the grand wizard needs you, racist!
