I think you're describing the appropriate grief process that occurs after any loss and especially this one. The artist that helped me through my last 'broken' heart was Peter Gabriel; I simply have no doubt he's been through it. Penultimately weeping is an art form; it really is the process of giving yourself over to that feeling state and letting it have it's way with you....all of you. We don't do this very well in this culture. And that's very unfortunate because, left unresolved, grief can and does compromise the quality of your life. Now or later......(and now is better) go ahead and listen to your music and do whatever you have to do to get through this process of letting go. You're being prepared for something better.

Yes, I think all people do sometimes. It's called self-pity, and we can all admit that yeah, it does feel kinda good to be sad and have a good reason for it, and cry and feel like the world has done you wrong, and comfort yourself by feeling sorry for yourself. When put that way it sounds kinda wussy, but we can all admit that we've done it and enjoyed it. As long as you let it all out and move on, you'll be alright.

Absolutely! The best thing to do when you break up and you're hurting, is to go to a room where you can be all alone... turn off the lights, light a candle, sit on the floor and listen to those songs while you just let yourself bawl! Hey, you have to let it out, and relieving that pressure really DOES help!

Yeah, like those cheesy 80s power ballads and makes you sing it at the top of your lungs. Like for example, Air Supply`s, Making Love Out of Nothin At All.
You feel sad but then singing the song makes you feel good somehow coz in a way it lessens your sadness.
I know how it feels ;)

I think sadness is what makes us feel like we've been through something important. If you weren't sad, it wouldn't have meant anything to you. Have a good pout!
